Biography:
Nell (or Neru) Tou is a departure from the arrancar we see earlier in the series; instead of being bloodthirsty, monstrous, or just outright vicious, Nell is a little girl* who looks to be no more than six or seven years old. Her hair is light blue and cut short; she has a scar that bisects her forehead and goes between her eyes and over her nose, and a birthmark that spreads over her nose and across her face. Her hollow mask -- a skull head, minus the lower jaw -- sits on top of her head like a hat. She doesn't wear the arrancar uniform; instead, she wears a loose hooded robe and goes barefoot. She's missing some teeth, and is occasionally translated as speaking with a lisp.

*Note: There's been some discussion over Nell's actual gender thanks to some quirks of the Japanese language. Right now, the best information we have is that Nell is female. If KT says otherwise, we'll change it.

Nell lives in the desert surrounding Las Noches with her "brothers" Dondo Chakka and Pesh and their "pet" Bawabawa. They spend their days playing endless tag, which consists of Nell running and the others chasing her. She's a gregarious, goodnatured child with a bit of a mouth on her; she's not afraid to fling insults if she feels like it. She's also extremely impulsive, prone to just doing things without really thinking about them beforehand.

She and her group -- "The Great Desert Bros." -- meet up with Ichigo and company just outside of the palace, and end up joining forces with them. They're told to wait behind while the others start into the palace, but Nell elects to follow Ichigo anyway, racing through the tunnels until she finds him. In the fight with Doldoni it's revealed that she can block cero attacks, consume them, and blast them back at whoever fired them. This seems to inflict its share of damage, though, and weakens her considerably.

There's been some hints that Nell might have some additional abilities, and we haven't seen if she has a zanpakutou yet. Does she have other secrets? Only time will tell.
