Vaizard – One of the leaders of the Vaizards
Zanpakutou: Unknown. Shinji has drawn his zanpakutou and his mask, but he did not release his zanpakutou.

Biography: Hirako Shinji is the first known Vaizard to be introduced. After Ichigo and the others returned from Soul Society and school begins again, Shinji appears in Ichigo’s class as an exchange student. Just before that he is seen hanging upside down in the air as Ichigo defeats a hollow. Less than a day after Shinji becomes a member of the class, he attacks Ichigo when he’s out taking care of a hollow. He tells Ichigo that he is a Vaizard, and briefly explains what that means. He then asks Ichigo to join the Vaizards, saying that he is wasting his time with the shinigami.

The next day in class, he declares that Orihime is the most beautiful creature to grace the earth’s surface, and Ichigo becomes very angry with him. Shinji explains that he won’t take no for an answer, and he’ll just keep pestering him until he gives in.

After the battle with Grimmjow, Ichigo seeks the Vaizards out in order to learn how to control Shirosaki (one of many names for Ichigo’s inner hollow) and sparred with him briefly before they accepted him to train him.

Shinji and Sarugaki Hiyori appear to share responsibilities in being in charge of the Vaizards. Hiyori often beats Shinji with her sandal, and their relationship is one similar to that of a brother and sister. Shinji dresses in very slim fitting, trendy clothes, often accompanied by a hat. He is very wiry and has medium length straw-blond hair. He also has a very wide mouth with very straight teeth.

Shinji is an interesting character, to say the least. He seems to be sad that the vaizards are rejected by both humans and shinigami. The details of his past are unknown, though they may be explored at a later date.

At the moment he is observing Ichigo’s Vaizard training. He told the others who Orihime was when she infiltrated their warehouse, and it was revealed that Shinji tells every girl he thinks is attractive that they’re the love of his life. Hiyori, however, was not one of those girls, much to her outrage.
